A measles health alert has been issued after a woman attended a number of Melbourne events, including the Grand Prix, while she may have been infectious.

The woman, who is in her 40s, remains isolated and is being treated in hospital after acquiring the illness in the Northern Territory.

Health authorities say the woman may have been infectious while visiting the Australian Grand Prix, Jones Stand, Gate 2 entrance and food areas at Gate 1 on Saturday; Woolworths, Braybrook and the Australian Grand Prix Fangio Stand, Gate 2 entrance and food areas at Gate 1 on Sunday; and Woolworths, Braybrook on Monday.
