The annual Melbourne Cup parade kicks off at noon today, where thousands of people are expected to attend.
The city will stop in its tracks as the Melbourne Cup travels alongside a procession of horses, jockeys, and trainers.
There will be some road closures, including St. Kilda Road, Bourke Street, and Collins Streets from 8:30am this morning.
The iconic Melbourne Cup will start it’s journey from the corner of Swanston and Bourke Streets, and will continue with the parade until it concludes at 2pm.
The 2019 Melbourne Cup Parade is on today between 12pm to 2pm, travelling along Swanston Street to Fed Square. Closures for St. Kilda Road, Bourke and Collins streets start from 8.30am. Tram disruptions between 10am and 1.30pm. Use @metrotrains where possible. #victraffic pic.twitter.com/1PoZAtWKOo
