Melbourne’s iconic Skipping Girl vinegar sign could be about to be taken down.
The home of the sign — known as Little Audrey — at 651 Victoria St, Abbotsford is preparing itself for sale at a price of over $20 million.
The sign has been lighting up Melbourne for over 80 years but the Herald Sun is now reporting that there is a flexibility to the sign that means it can be moved and displayed at any height.
Vantage Property Investments told the paper “The sign has to be incorporated into something on that site, or elsewhere on the street. You can move it up the building, so long as there are sufficient lines of sight. You could put it at street level.”
Heritage Victoria have now said they can confirm the sign can be moved with approval and are working with all parties.
