The Dalton family are completely crushed after the Cardinia Council demanded they hand over their pug, Darcie.

The council claims the tiny dog “rushed” people three times while the family was overseas. However, the Pakenham family’s housesitter say that CCTV footage proves he was in his pen.

In response, the council has “filed charges, deeming the dog a threat to community safety, and wants him brought in for photos and evidence,” according to 7News.

“It’s just gone from something so minor to something so big,” owner Lauren Dalton told 7NEWS.

“I know Darcie too well, he would not do such a thing.”

If the Daltons don’t hand him over, the council said they will obtain a warrant to get police to collect him.
