Paterson Lakes resident Joanne Kelly is the owner of the iconic Melbourne house, and she decided to let fans get a glimpse before it undergoes renovations.

The mother of two, who lost her first husband to brain cancer, charged $5 per entry over the weekend to raise money for Carrie Bickmore’s Beanies 4 Brain Cancer.

“My friends always said to me before we started renovations, we had to do a Kath and Kim party,” Ms Kelly said.

“I thought instead of a party, we could turn this into something for charity.”

On Saturday, 31 August, the familiar home was decorated with posters from the iconic show, and featured sausage sizzles and raffle prizes.

Lines for the open house were out the door, stretching down the street – but parking proved trouble for some.

Parking tickets were issued for those that had trouble finding parks, but Ms Kelly had said she would cover the cost of the fines.
