The only remaining supermarket in Blackburn is closing.

Blackburn IGA is set to shut its doors by the end of October, after years of “terrible business.”

The family who owned the franchise were unable to find a new buyer for the business and have finally managed to terminate their long-term lease.

The construction on Blackburn railway station was a massive hit for the business and was unable to recover when it finally finished three years later.

It’s another blow for Blackburn shoppers after the IGA in Blackburn North shut down in January.
