A home owner in Queensland has got the shock of their life after discovering one of the world’s deadliest animals hiding under their washing machine.

Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 have shared an image of an Eastern Brown snake coiled around the internal apparatus of the appliance.

“Imagine going to throw the dirty washing in the machine and seeing a brown coloured tail dissappearing [sic] under it. It would definitely be an acceptable excuse not to do the washing haha,” they wrote on Facebook.

“The home owners sent me in this photo of the big fella, please note though that they got a little too close to take this photo. Please ensure you are a safe distance away from a snake in your house or yard even if you are trying to get a good photo.”

They added, “A good photo is not worth getting bitten over! Thankfully the snake made his way back out into the bush on his own.”

The Eastern Brown snake is the second most venomous land serpent in the world and account for sixty per cent of snake-venom deaths in Australia.
