A DHHS spokesperson has hinted that there is a chance that trick-or-treating for Halloween could be banned in metropolitan Melbourne while restrictions are still in place.

The yearly tradition sees children dress up in costumes and visit homes in their neighbourhoods to ask for candy and chocolate.

“We’ll have more to say on this closer to the time but as current restrictions stand trick-or-treating would not be allowed in metropolitan Melbourne and could take place in Victoria with COVID-safe guidelines,” the spokesman said.
