Supermarket giant Woolworths has stopped sending toilet paper from its Gepps Cross distribution centre over the border to Victoria after supplying stores over the border for several weeks.

Some customers have complained that South Aussie supermarkets have appeared more well-stocked on toilet paper than their Victorian counterparts.

However, a spokesperson from Woolworths has told The Advertiser that supplies of essential items have been distributed fairly across the country.

“For a few weeks we used additional capacity at our South Australian distribution centre to receive and dispatch extra deliveries to some Victorian supermarkets, but that stopped last week,” he told The Advertiser.

“At no stage did we prioritise deliveries to Victoria over our South Australian and Northern Territory stores from the distribution centre.”

Woolworths has reported that they sold 11.5 million rolls last week, down from 15 million the previous week and 20 million the week before that.
