Another week, another Eastlands headache.

It’s been revealed that the popular shopping destination has postponed the introduction of its controversial paid parking system.

The reason behind the delay is to allow shoppers more time to register online.

General manager Steve Edgerton said the delay came about because so many customers still had not registered online for ticketless parking.

Once they register the first three hours will be free, with rates then kicking in ranging from $3 to $30.

Last year a poll revealed 2500 people were firmly against the introduction of charges at the shopping centre, with 80 per cent saying it would be enough to make them shop elsewhere.

Whatever the outcome, in the meantime shoppers will be still be able to access free parking while things are getting sorted out.
