Police are currently investigating after a man was stabbed outside a Woolworths store on the Mornington Peninsula as chaos continues in Melbourne supermarkets due to the coronavirus crisis.
It is believed the 37-year-old staff member was collecting trolleys in the carpark of the Rosebud store when he was approached by an unknown man, believed to be in his late 30’s to early 40’s.
Paramedics treated the man for lower body injuries before he was flown to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The store went into lockdown after police received calls just before 1pm. Police are currently searching for the attacker and are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
It comes after the news that a staff member at Coles Barkly Square was bashed with a stick on Sunday night. The 43-year-old man was pinned down by other customers and has since been charged.
