Kaufland has its eyes on yet another site in Melbourne.

The Herald Sun is reporting that the German supermarket chain (known as ‘Aldi on steroids’) has launched a $24m bid to open a store in Cheltenham.

The site it hopes to build on is right next door to the Aldi on Bay Road.

It comes as 12 suburbs in Melbourne look set to get a Kaufland.

Kaufland stores are typically MASSIVE, at least five times larger than the average Coles or Woolies and have a product range of some 60,000 goods.
