Following the man’s claims, the police station had to be closed and isolation protocols were put in place.
Police say that following inquiries it was revealed that the man did not have the virus.
A 21-year-old man was arrested at the station, where he was charged with stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm, and resist or hinder police officer in the execution of duty.
He was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear in Coffs Harbour Local Court in May.
