Prime Minister Scott Morrison has announced stronger distancing rules to help stop the spread of coronavirus.
Morrison announced that there should be no more than one person per four square metres in an indoor space, which means each individual will need two square metres between them.
“If you have a meeting room or something like that, that is 100 metres, you can have 25 people in that room,” Morrison said as an example.
This is in addition to the existing limit to the rule of no mass gatherings of 100 people or more in an indoor space.
Morrison said that he understood it will take a while to get used to, but he urged the public to get used to it as quickly as possible.
“I know it means a lot of change for a lot of venues, whether they be cafes or restaurants or clubs or any of these other places of public gathering, including at this building here.
“We will be working to ensure that people know how many people can be in the various meeting rooms at this place.”
It has also been announced that the Prime Minister has postponed handing down the federal budget under October 6th because of the coronavirus pandemic.
