It has been revealed that social visits between romantic partners who live apart will now be banned under the new Stay At Home restrictions.
Police Minister Lisa Neville, who made the ruling on Wednesday morning, said, “you cannot visit your partner for social reasons.”
“There are select reasons you can go to the home of your partner. They are outlined clearly in the directions of the CHO.”
The list of reasons you can visit someone can be found on the DHHS website which has an extensive FAQ.
When it comes to leaving the house during the Stay At Home period, the website says:
“Social visits from friends and family increase the risk of spreading coronavirus. Every interaction is a risk of transmission and should be avoided. You should not have visitors and in turn, you should not visit the homes of others during the Stay at Home direction.
“Of course, you can welcome a visitor into your home when they are providing you with care and support when you are unwell, disabled, elderly or pregnant.”
