When you wake up with a filthy hangover you find yourself willing to sell your soul to get rid of it.
But you don’t have to go on a full 5-day cleanse to get rid of it, you just need to try get some of these food and/or drinks down ya (if you can hold it down!!)
If you were using it as a mixer last night you probably won’t be keen on this one, but it’s be said that Mexican Coke is the best for this hack, if you get ahold of some. If not all soda is supposed to help alleviate the dehydration that stems from drinking.
2. A bagel- with ALL the fillings
Bagels tend to hold a lot of salt and also contain potassium, and these two help replenish lost stores to make you feel better. Add cream cheese and bacon, you’ll get a dose of protein, which neutralizes the irritating acids alcohol leaves in your stomach!

real cream cheese, lots of gluten, a perfectly cooked egg and smoked salmon☝🏼it’s not the healthiest breakfast i could’ve ordered, but it makes me happy so ima eat every last bite😋 . we’re heading to another mountain today for some more powder and the @burton US Open! we went a couple of years ago and watched the half pipe competition – it blew my freakin’ mind🤯 . i’ve been snowboarding for 16 years now but i’ve always been too much of a scaredy-cat cat to try any of the terrain parks😅 i guess for now i’ll just hang on the side and wish i were that cool🏂
Again, the saltiness of these will help get you back to full health. The carbs of the protein will also help soak up all those gin and sodas.
4. Tomato Juice
It may not be your cup of tea, but tomato juice is also great as it’s an electrolyte solution with nice and healthy complex carbohydrates, delivering sodium and potassium into your system quickly, while tomatoes deliver complex carbohydrates that improve blood sugar with longer.
5. Cold orange juice
How often do you wake up with a hangover and crave a nice cold crisp orange juice?! Because orange juice has an acid-neutralizing effect when it’s metabolized and delivers potassium, it’s an A+ hangover hydrator, so get it down ya!
6. Banana and honey
Coincidentally these two ingredients make the perfect pancakes topping! Banana’s deliver potassium, an electrolyte you lose if you’re hitting the dance floor hard. As well as vitamins C and B6 from the banana’s, honey is a natural sugar that helps to metabolize alcohol.
7. Coconut water
The drink loved by health freaks – coconut water gets extra credit since it contains electrolytes, unlike water. Adding pineapple juice doesn’t just make the drink taste more like a pina colada, but also adds sugar that can moderate your moodiness once it hits the bloodstream.
