Writing up a brand new CV can be really intimidating.

It doesn’t help that there are so many conflicting reports online about what makes a good one.

Thankfully some myths have been busted and we’re here to pass along a few helpful tips!

It seems a whopping 72 per cent of people think it’s important to include a personal interest section in their CV but only 41 per cent of recruiters think people should put it in there.

So if you like working out or hanging with your mates, leave it out of your CV, bosses don’t really care!

Recruiters say it also doesn’t matter whether or not your CV is 2 pages long and a massive emphasis has been placed on avoiding typos and spelling mistakes.

Finally try to avoid cheesy jargon like “thinking outside the box” and saying caring TOO much about your work is a weakness. Cringe!
