These days the first thing most brides do is post their engagement news to Facebook. Many use the predictable ‘he asked… and I said YES!’, which makes most single people die inside. Sorry, but it’s true.
And while most people hold in their burning resentment, a woman in Tennessee was mortified to receive a barrage of abuse from a sales assistant who labelled her engagement ring ‘pathetic.’
Ariel McRae revealed her husband to be was distraught at the thought he couldn’t provide her with the engagement ring of her dreams, but saved up just enough money to buy her two rings from Pandora. His happy fiancee said she was more than excited about the beautiful rings and all she cared about was marrying her best friend.
While shopping for the rings a sales assistant loudly remarked, “can you believe some men get these as engagement rings? How pathetic.”
Understandably angry, Ariel took to Facebook to share a photo of her beautiful rings, as well as her awful experience. The heartfelt message read: “I would have gotten married to this man if it had been a 25¢ gum ball machine ring. When did our nation fall so far to think the only way a man can truly love a woman is if he buys her $3,000+ jewelry and makes a public decree of his affection with said flashy ring?”
The post was flooded with supportive comments and has been shared over 50,000 times. It’s safe to say we all know who is pathetic now. What a beautiful couple!
