Ever hear the story about the hunstman spider that was so big it ate you while you slept?
No? Well you’re about to.
We’d like to introduce you to Charlotte, who turned up on an animal rescue farm – how lucky – in Queensland last year.
The hulking arachnid is clearly as big as the broom she’s hitching a lift on; seriously, that leg span? She could wrap them around you with close to no effort.
The photos were posted on Barnyard Betty’s Rescue Facebook page last October, but the pics are storming the internet once more as the summer heats up/ spiders start invading our homes again.
“Yes, she is very real and very large and not Photoshopped!” Charlotte’s kindly saviour wrote. “I released her here on the farm after rescuing her so I can’t get any more photos or video her, I’m sorry.”
Yes. Charlotte is roaming free.
“She was a beautiful, calm spider, not aggressive in any way and like most spiders she just wanted to go about her business eating bugs and living in peace.”
We’re kind of happy she found such a lovely place to live though; we probably would have been using that broom in an entirely different way if we had happened across Charlotte.
