If you’re like us, then you’re obsessing over The Voice battle rounds and the incredible talent the show is bursting at the seams with.
While the coaches are crossing their fingers that one of their team members make it to the grand finale to be crowned champion, Delta Goodrem has proved that she will do absolutely anything for her team to rule.
One of the most recent knockout rounds saw three members of Guy Sebastian’s team – Chriddy Black, Mitch Paulsen and Jesse Teinaki – go head to head, ultimately resulting in Mitch being selected to move forward.
Each coach has a number of “saves” up their sleeves, which both Guy and Delta tried to use to “save” Chriddy.
While the 26-year-old opted to stay on Team Guy, Delta wasn’t satisfied.
Attempting to press her buzzer again while Sonia Kruger farewelled remaining singer Jesse, Delta exclaimed: “Wait, wait! I still have a save. What about if I save Jesse?”
“Hold on a minute, that’s cheating!” fellow coach Boy George pointed out.
Meanwhile, the 27-year-old was left standing on the stage confused.
“Is that a thing? Is that a real thing?” he asked. “I’m just waiting for someone to come in and say no we can’t do that, that’s against the rules.”
Even Guy was shocked, proclaiming: “These are the loosest Voice rules I’ve ever seen!”
Thankfully for Jesse (… and Delta), the singer was allowed to be added to her team.
“Let me just say I really do think that none of you deserved to go home just then so Jesse I’m looking forward to coaching you on my team,” Delta added.
The other coaches were understandably unhappy with Boy George complaining: “What a joke!”
But, at the end of the day we’re so happy to see such a talented bunch of guys make it through to the next round. Whether it’s considered cheating or not, Delta made the right decision.
The Voice Australia continues Sunday at 7pm on Channel Nine.
