Chances are, if you’ve used Netflix even once in your life, you’ll have done the whole throw-your-hands-in-the-air-and-have-a-whinge-about-there-being-nothing-to-watch thing.
It’s inevitable; we have a love-hate relationship with the streaming service and we’re not afraid to admit it.
But now Ted Sarandos, the head of content at good old Netty, has revealed they’re not particularly bothered about keeping you happy with fantastic flicks – because YOU really don’t care.
“No matter what, we end up with about one-third of our watching being movies,” he said at the UBS Global Media and Communications conference in New York.
“If you were passionate [about a movie], you’ve already seen it.”
Instead, the company have been focussing on spending their money on creating original series’; in 2016 alone, they poured $7.78 BILLION into fresh content, and have pledged to do the same for 2017.
And we suppose, between The Crown, Narcos, The Get Down, Gilmore Girls and Stranger Things, that’s been enough to keep us busy.
Touché, Netflix. You win this round.
