A photo of a waiter in Douglasville, Georgia, helping a customer who needed assistance eating has gone viral and warmed the hearts of thousands overnight.

Alex Ruiz, 22, didn’t hesitate to help when an unidentified customer sat down to eat and asked for help with eating because he has no hands.

Ruiz, who works at the Cinco de Mayo Mexican Grill ‘had a smile on his face the entire time’ according to another customer.

Reginald Widener, a regular at the cafe, told CBS news that Ruiz stayed with the man for 30 minutes as customers watched in awe.

Widener said “he didn’t complain about it; it looked like he really cared”.

“Southern hospitality is real down here. People do kind things all the time that’s above and beyond what normally happens”.

Crystal Figuero, 24, whose father is the manager at the restaurant said “he sat with him until he was finished eating. He’s a great person. He’s always so nice and the fact that he just came out of nowhere and helped a man he doesn’t even know have a meal says everything”.
