Imagine seeing a ghost in real life. Well, standing next to you in a photograph.

That is exactly what happened to Kim Davidson, who was swimming with her friend Jessie Lu and their three children at Murphy’s Hole in Queensland’s Lockyer River.

All seemed fine as the friends swam around and enjoyed their day – until they saw a photo taken that scared them beyond belief.

It seems that there is a fourth child swimming the water with them – and it wasn’t until they researched further, that they found an explanation.

It seems that a little girl had died in that very spot 100 years earlier. The little girl’s name is Doreen O’Sullivan, and she tragically died at age 13 while swimming in 1915.

The face that can be seen in the shot appears to be very ghost-like, with a white face and two dark eyes with two shapes on either side of the head.

According to a report on The Daily Mail, they knew nothing of the figure when the photo was being taken.

‘At the time of taking this photo there was nothing between us,’ Ms Davison insists

‘I’m holding the little girl and that white head next to me with horns is not human, I can promise you that,’ Ms Davison said.

She did say however, that she experienced weird occurances throughout the day.

‘Its fingers are on my shoulder and on my daughter’s arm. They are long skeletal type fingers.’

‘On this day my daughter had her leg grabbed two times by something in the water.’

‘When I went back in for one last dip to cool off I did feel something behind me as I was walking out of water but tried to ignore it.
