After all the hype in the world, Sunday Night Takeaway with Julia Morris & Dr Chris Brown launched last night and it didn’t do so well.
In the official ratings, released this morning, the show only managed an audience of 383,000 Australians based on 5 capital cities.
So Sunday Night Takeaway was great and Chris and Julia did brilliantly! Great show, though with a few expected teething problems. Can’t wait for next week! #TakeawayAU

This is compared to Married At First Sight which managed to entertain 1.6 million people last night.

It’s not a great start for the show, which actually gained favourable reviews online with its huge prize giveaways praised for being the best ’60 seconds on TV this week’.
Chris and Julia are absolutely killing it tonight 👏🏼🙌🏼
We’ve had a proposal, an at-home singalong and Toby the dog ❤️ #TakeawayAU

Sunday Night Takeaway is based off the UK format ‘Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway’ which has been a number one rating show for a decade but it doesn’t look to have translated as well over here.
Good luck @drchrisbrown, @Ladyjmo, @oggers and all the gang launching @TakeawayAU in Australia tonight on @Channel10AU. Wish we were there! Have a great one 👍#TakeawayAU 🇦🇺

Channel 10 will be hoping the show fares better next week.
