Two carts were initially stuck on the ride before people in the first cart were freed.
Two people in the second cart are reportedly also free with six ridegoers remaining.
A rescue crane as well as abseiling equipment is being used to help save each of those trapped.
Emergency services do not know how much longer the operation will take.

Emergency crews have been called to Movieworld on the Gold Coast to rescue ridegoers who are trapped on the Green Lantern Coaster.
Reports currently claim that seven people are trapped but the number was initially higher.
Fire crews are reportedly using a cherry picker to reach the stranded people.
