It seems that the backlash from the Kristin Davis Sex And The City skit has escalated into more than just a Twitter discussion.
Sam Armytage, who donned a wig to play Carrie for the Sex and the City ‘reenactment’ and consequently received massive backlash and been released from her hosting duties at the UN lunch for refugees, which Kristin Davis is heavily involved in as ambassador.
The backlash came after Kristin hit out on Twitter following her appearance on the breakfast show, slamming Sunrise for not allowing her to speak about the issue – and her involvement with the cause on the show.
The announcement of Sam’s release from the lunch comes just a day after the disastrous appearance.
On Friday Samantha and her co-star David Koch led a sincere apology to Kristin, claiming she had been told not to even attend the event as a result of the row.
Advocating for the UNHCR, Samantha said: ‘Sunrise partnered with the UNHCR for a fundraising event being held today.
‘I was asked to mc that event and conduct a Q&A with Kristin. I immediately accepted,” she said. ‘Since our interview yesterday, organisers have asked Sam not to host or attend the event at all which came as a surprise,” David added.
