Congratulations are in order for Sally Obermeder!
The Daily Edition host and her husband Marcus welcomed their second daughter Elyssa Rose, via surrogate in the United States on Monday.
The 43-year-old TV personality revealed the happy news on Instagram, sharing an adorable snap holding the tiny bub.
Sally arrived in the US a week ago in preparation for the baby’s arrival, with her five-year-old daughter Annabelle.
Sally and her family opted for a surrogate mother to carry their second child, after she was diagnosed with breast cancer one day before giving birth to Annabelle in 2011.
After extensive chemotherapy and treatment, Sally explained to New Idea magazine that she was unable to have more children herself, after doctors had warned her that another pregnancy would put her life at risk.
“I’ve been told in no uncertain terms that it’s far too dangerous for me to be pregnant again, in terms of the cancer returning,” she said.
“I acknowledge that I’m extremely lucky to have one child … But the yearning and desire to be a mum again is so strong and it has not passed.”
