We’ve heard of the hilarious, yet fictional film ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ about love, wealth and all things opulence.
But now it seems that a real life TV show is coming based on a similar concept!
Introducing the reality TV show that we’re almost certain we’re about to become addicted to, ‘Sydney’s Crazy Rich Asians’.
The show is set to appear on this year’s Pilot Week on Network Ten and will follow the glamorous lives of six rich and very extra characters.
“It’s exactly what you think it is – it’s a little bit Real Housewives, and it’s focused on the kinds of people you saw in the movie Crazy Rich Asians,” said 10’s programming chief, Beverley McGarvey.
“It’s a slice of life into a world that you or I have no concept of. These people are not like everyone else, because they have a level of wealth that’s phenomenal, but they’re likeable and they’re funny.”
Sydney’s Crazy Rich Asians is set to be one of five new programs heading to Ten for Pilot Week in September.
The other programs on offer include I Am… Roxy!, My 80 Year Old Flatmate, Part Time Privates and Catfish Australia.
The shows that get picked up and developed into an actual series are chosen by us at home depending on how many of us tune and and talk about it.
“We were so thrilled with the quality and creativity we achieved with our partners in the production community for Pilot Week last year. We can’t wait to see how this year’s projects deliver,” said McGarvey.
“It is clear that more domestic content is what our audiences really crave, and we are working hard to ensure we can provide an innovative and diverse slate of local shows.”
