Shop owners are threatening to interrupt a busy railway line this afternoon to protest against a major road closure.

The Herald Sun reports that about 115 Reservoir traders will march on to the Mernda line and stop trains from 3pm.

The march is in protest to The Level Crossing Removal Project, that closes High St intersection for four months.

The project is scheduled to close High St level crossing from 9pm today until the end of the year.
