The late Paul Walker’s daughter Meadow has posted a touching tribute on her Instagram on what would have been his 42nd birthday.
She also announced that she has founded the Paul Walker Foundation, which aims to protect the oceans and wildlife and provide grants and scholarships to marine science students and researchers.
Reflecting on my father, I found myself reflecting on his passions. His passion for the ocean, his passion for rescuing animals, his passion for helping people and his passion for spontaneous goodwill. I wanted to start this foundation because I want to share that piece of him with the world. I want to share that part of him with others. I am tremendously proud to be launching The #PaulWalkerFoundation (@paulwalkerfdn) on his birthday. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate my father. #DoGood
“I love so much about him,” Meadow, 16, said about Paul in a message posted on the group’s website.
“I wanted to start this foundation because I want to share that piece of him with others. I want to share that piece of him with the world. I am tremendously proud to be launching the Paul Walker Foundation on his birthday. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate my father.”
The Fast & Furious actor died in a car crash in 2013.
His only child, Meadow has posted a few sweet tributes about him since his death.
“Paul Walker was best known for his acting career but his passion was the ocean,” the website states.
“He studied marine biology and spent most of his free time in the ocean.”
“That was his magical kingdom,” Walker’s father, Paul Walker III, told E! News last year.
“The ocean, and the other was the racetrack.”
The Paul Walker Foundation’s mission statement is to “DO GOOD.”
“Continuing his spontaneous goodwill has no boundaries,” the website states.
“This is something we can all practice daily. The foundation is passing the torch to Meadow as we are all inspired to live like Paul, full of heart, character and spontaneous acts of goodwill that will be impactful beyond our years.”
His brother Cody Walker, 27, is now the CEO.
He told E! News that for Paul’s 42nd birthday, he plans to “Hang out with the family and close friends, hopefully at the beach.”
“Paul was a low-key kind of guy and loved the ocean, so it’s pretty fitting,” he said.
