Don’t expect to see Pamela Anderson making a cameo in the highly anticipated remake of Baywatch – the 90s hit that made her famous.

Aside from not being invited to cameo… Anderson has made some scathing comments about the reboot and says the original shouldn’t be touched.

“No one appreciates the remakes,” Anderson told TMZ.

The 48-year-old said it would be hard to transition the show into the current day as the 90s were a “simpler, sweeter time”.

But according to what we have heard about the movie, set to begin filming early next year, ‘sweet’ and ‘simple’ is the exact opposite of what they are going for.

Zac Efron and Dwayne Johnson have both signed on for the remake, which is set to be made similar to the ’21 Jump Street’ remakes… including the R rating.

And it doesn’t sound like either star is too phased by Anderson’s comments on the movie.

“We’re excited about it. I’ve known Zac for some time — for years, by the way — and this project has been in our wheelhouse and we’re very excited to make the movie,” Johnson told Entertainment Tonight at D23.

“The cool thing about this is we want to make a movie that’s big, fun, epic, and all the things that you want.

“We want to make sure that it has edge and badass action and dirty jokes.”

Efron was similar in his comments, speaking to Reuters about the project.

“I think we’re going like pretty big with it and I don’t think it’s going to be much like the old ‘Baywatch’ to be honest,” he said.

“I think we’re going to kind of reinvent it in a big way, and he (Johnson) has big plans for it. I know he’s very ambitious.”

If the movie does adopt the R rating, then we’re interested to see what they do with this iconic run…
