Both trailers tease the film’s story through each of the titular characters’ perspectives!

Dubbed one of the most anticipated Netflix films of 2019, Marriage Story starring Scarlett Johansson & Adam Driver and directed by Academy Award nominated filmmaker Noah Baumbach tells a compassionate story of a marriage breaking up and family staying together amidst a divorce.

Netflix has dropped two trailers for the film, one from Johansson’s character Nicole’s perspective and the other from Driver’s character Charlie’s perspective.

This new feature isn’t Baumbach’s first divorce themed rodeo. His second critically acclaimed film The Squid and the Whale, earnt him high praise for its unflinching portrayal of Brooklyn intellectuals’ divorce in the 1980s.

In a recent statement, Baumbach said, “Marriage Story is a love story that reveals itself within the breakdown. With these companion trailers I wanted to show the relationship through the eyes of both characters. “There are many sides to every story, and the movie embraces these different viewpoints in order to find the shared truth.”

Supporting Johansson & Driver are casting favourites Laura Dern, Alan Alda and Ray Liotta.

Marriage Story premiere’s at the Toronto International Film Festival in September and will be available to stream on Netflix in the coming months!
