It seems Madonna is causing a stir while trying to promote her latest album ‘Rebel Heart’.
After a number of unfinished songs were leaked early, Madonna chose to release the album before it’s original release date but it has failed to chart in the top 100 so far.
Trying desperately to cling onto the momentum, it seems she is trying a different approach to get attention.
While a number of celebs have rallied around her and provided artwork to promote her new album… some of her chosen candidates are more questionable…

But she has continued on this morning to include photoshopped portraits of Nelson Mandela, Martin Luthar King Jr and even a statue of Jesus Christ to promote her #rebelheart cause…

Some of the backlash can be seen on both Instagram and Twitter where the photos reside. And while some are still blinded by love for the music icon, others are not.
@Madonna there was a time that i would fall over to defend you …. but now you are a parody and an asshole

I get where @Madonna was trying to go with the #RebelHeart images of MLK, etc., but she did not think this through. :/

@Madonna is a pig. A talentless pig. To dare bring #NelsonMandela and #DrMartinLutherKingJr into her hysterics is beyond belief.

While it seems her posts were not made with a racial or disrespectful undertone, the wider public reaction and the weight of using these specific icons has obviously made the issue explode on social media.
Whether you love or hate her, has she gone too far in this marketing push?
