Johnny Depp has poked fun at a video apology he made with his wife Amber Heard after they smuggled two dogs into Australia.

The Hollywood actor and his wife were forced by Barnaby Joyce to make a video urging people to respect the Australian quarantine laws after Heard brought dogs Pistol and Boo into Queensland while Depp was filming in the country.

However, at a press conference in London for his new film ”Alice Through The Looking Glass”, Depp joked ”I’m going to do this everywhere I go. I would really like to apologise for not smuggling my dogs into England because it would have been a bad thing to do because the Australians, though chipper, and you know..”

His producer Suzanne Todd also joked that the dogs came to England while he was filming adding ”That’s funny, I feel like Johnny’s dogs were here, weren’t they? Weren’t they with you on set?”

It was then Tim Burtons chance to intercept saying ”I forgot to tell you- they’re dead, I just sat on them.”

Heard was granted a one-month good behaviour bond of $1,000 and no conviction following her trial.
