In recent weeks we’ve seen Lance ‘Buddy’ Franklin step away from his AFL career due to mental health issues, and then an almost immediate circulation of rumours around substance abuse and infidelity. For him and his model fiance, Jesinta Campbell, life hasn’t been easy lately.

But, last week Jesinta spoke out for the first time during her Blackmores’ Running Festival media commitments reminding reporters that they should ‘cover things that actually have weight to them’ and that Buddy was ‘doing great.’ Now, Jesinta has opened up again in an emotional declaration during Australian Women’s Weekly Women Of The Future Awards last night.

‘I have fallen even more in love with him,’ she said, Daily Mail reports. ‘It is important for me to be a pillar of strenght for my fiance, so I am just trying to get through my day as best I can.’

‘We take each day as it comes and the sun rose today and the sun set today and I woke up with a smile and there was a few tears in between, but I will go to bed with a smile on my face.’

‘He has opened up and owned his feelings and said, “I’m not ok.”   Jesinta has also taken to Instagram to extend her gratitude for the support her and her future husband have received, and reiterate her love and support for Buddy.
