We fell in love with Fiona Falkiner when she wowed us with her full body transformation on the first series of The Biggest Loser Australia.Now the contestant turned host, has dropped a few hints at what the much anticipated new series will look like and we’re excited! While much of the focus has been on weight loss and numbers, Fiona said the show will also incorporate a healthy mentality. It’s hoped this will help contestants to keep the weight off once the cameras stop rolling.

“It is not based on the numbers on the scale, but it is focusing on the mindset and getting contestants to realise its not about losing the weight but it’s about really prioritising yourself and the stumbling blocks that lead up to weight gain,” she told the Wentworth Courier.

Fiona knows all too well the struggles contestants can face after going from the safe haven of the Biggest Loser compound to the real world. The presenter revealed she experienced a bout of depression after the show aired and consequently the weight piled back on.

“The weight came on really quickly as I wasn’t in the right place mentally or emotionally and it took a few years to figure out what truly made me happy,” she said. 

Her advice to other former contestants and viewers is to ditch the scales and focusing on your accomplishments.

“I stopped weighing myself and dieting. I started doing affirmations, which I practice every day. Taking five minutes out of my day to be grateful for everything I’ve been given and a pat on the back for everything I’ve achieved,” she revealed. 

It’s set to be a new look Biggest Loser with fan faves and couple Michelle Bridges and the Commando exiting the show. Trainer Libby Babet will fill the gap, alongside Shannon Ponting.
