The 29-year-old ‘ex-virgin’, as he was referred to on Married At First Sight, took to the TODAY show yesterday to reveal the news that he’s dating a new woman

Matt introduced British-born Annabelle, who he met at wrestling training not long after leaving the hit reality show last year.

“We both met trying out for wrestling, professional wrestling. I’d always wanted to do it as a kid,” Matt said.

Just hours later, Matthew’s former ‘wife’ Lauren appeared to take a swipe at the videographer’s new partner in a sassy Instagram post.

The makeup artist posted a glamorous image of herself alongside the hashtag #countrygirlsdoitbetter.

Lauren’s followers immediately came to her defence, with one writing: “You’re the most stunning and the most genuine woman I’ve ever seen I hope the best for you in the future and hope you find the one true love you’re looking for.”

However, others did not hesitate to defend her ex stating, “Matt was lucky to get rid of you his new woman is so much better then you.”

The thinly-veiled Instagram post comes after co-star Mel told Yahoo Lifestyle that Lauren is “pretty hurt” that Matthew is dating another woman, and that their split is “getting really messy”.

“She was saying she was pretty hurt by it but she’s doing okay, so that’s good,” Mel told the publication.

On TODAY yesterday, Matthew opened up about his new girlfriend and how their relationship blossomed.

At training, he offered me a lift home and I said no… then he started asking me questions that men don’t normally ask me like what I read and we became friends.

‘He was asking me questions about my brain and what I thought!’

“It’s not been too bad. I’ve been stopped in Coles and a cafe at lunch. So far, it’s not been very negative.”
