We already know that Locky Gilbert from Survivor is going to be our next Bachelor and now it seems like Channel 10 is looking at another one of their current stars to be the Bachelorette.

According to TV Blackbox, Sharna Burgess, a judge on the TV Show Dancing With The Stars, has been signed on to be the leading lady on the reality dating show.

A podcast contributor for TV Blackbox’s podcast, Ben Norris, claims that he was told Burgess would be the Bachelorette at the same time as being told the Locky Gilbert would be the Bachelor.

He claims that while there’s been numerous rumours about the DWTS judge being the Bachelorette, he knew for a fact that a contract had been signed.

“The contract is dry and she is going to be The Bachelorette,” Norris said in the podcast.

“With Channel 10 having the former Bachelorette Angie Kent on Daning with the Stars, she kind of was like unceremoniously pushed aside, and it was sort of like, ‘bye Angie Kent, we’ll never see you again’whilst we give solo dances to Sharna Burgess and make her look fantastic,” he continued.

A Channel 10 spokesperson has since told TV Blackbox that they are still in the “early stages of casting”.

“We welcome speculation about the identity of the new Bachelorette,” the spokesperson said.

“We are thrilled that so many talented and accomplished women have expressed interest in appearing on the show. We are in the very early stages of casting and an announcement will be made in the coming months.”

This comes after Sharna spoke with Entertainment Tonight late last year, saying that she could love to be The Bachelorette.

“I am absolutely looking for love, I’m ready for love. I am getting more and more open to being The Bachelorette,” she told the publication.

Do you think it’s a good idea for Channel 10 to choose another celebrity as their Bachelorette? Or do you think they’d be better off choosing someone new that we don’t know this season?
