A British supermarket has been asked to ban people shopping in their pyjamas after a fellow customer branded it ‘bloody disgusting.’
An image was posted on the supermarket’s Facebook page showing the ladies wearing what looks like dressing gowns and pyjamas, strolling down one of the snack aisles.
Customer Chris Crooke snapped the women on his phone and sent it to the superstore owners, asking them to ban people from wearing nightwear, as it became a regular occurrence.
He posted on the Facebook page: “Dear Tesco, please can you put a rule in place that people like this will not be served in your stores. It’s bloody disgusting.
“This was at 7 pm last night at your Tesco Salford store, and I have seen other people dressed similarly on a regular basis.
“I mean who doesn’t have the time to get changed into clothes to go shopping.”
Tesco responded to Chris admitting that he was not the first person to be made to feel uncomfortable by a customer’s choice of clothing.
They replied; “Many of our customers have told us that they feel uncomfortable when they see other shoppers wearing unsuitable clothing in our stores and we do try to find a balance that everyone is happy with.
“Although we don’t have a formal dress code in our stores, we rely on our Management Team to use their discretion and common sense.”
What do you think the store should do?
