Rita Ora caused a stir when she pulled out of the Teen Choice Awards – and the rumour that spread quickly was that her ex, Calvin Harris, blocked her from performing.
Well, Rita has confirmed those rumours.
The singer was set to perform her single “I will never let you down”, which was written by Harris, when the news broke that she had to pull out at the lasts minute.
In an interview with Ryan Seacrest she revealed Harris did not approve the performance.
“He wrote and produced the song, he’s an incredible song writer, I’m never going to disregard his talents. He’s incredible,” She said.
“He has to approve everything TV wise… He owns the rights to [the song] and he didn’t approve the Teen Choice Awards.”
When Seacrest asked Ora if she was surprised, she replied, “No. No no no.”
“We put a lot of effort and work into the show. Every time we do a show, I rehearse about a month in advance, and, y’know… I could have got told a few weeks earlier! That would have been nice.It was a last minute change, but do you know what? We move on and we move forward.”
One might assume bad blood between the two…
