It seems Network Ten is about to take a swing at a reality show that people are actually going to be fighting to sign up for!

There are reports that the network have paid big bucks to bring The Amazing Race back to Aussie screens, giving us Down Under the chance the travel around the world with the chance at winning some major prize money!

Following 31 successful seasons over in the US, 10 is reportedly looking at investing in a show that can compete with the enormous amount of cooking, dating and renovation shows currently on offer.

In a recent interview with Mediaweek, 10’s chief content officer, Beverley McGarvey said that they would be focusing on bringing two new franchises to our screens at the ned of 2019.

The first of these was revealed as another US smash-hit show, The Masked Singer, and now TV Blackbox is claiming that the second is The Amazing Race.

“By the end of the year people have committed to so many big constructed reality shows with cooking, renovation and the like, we were looking for something to stand out from those,” McGarvey said.

“We are doing The Masked Singer, which is different, a bit crazy and a proper original. The other thing, a franchise I can’t talk about yet, will be huge for us too.”

While 10 is remaining tight lipped, TV Blackbox has heard from sources within the production that the Australian version of The Amazing Race is in the final stages of being signed off and filming will commence soon.

And it seems that casting has already began! A casting form popped up last month asking for those interested in an “Adventure Travel TV Series” to apply.

It also stated that successful candidates will “be part of a TV competition with a huge prize, packed with fun and adventure”.

Applications close this Friday (31st May) and you can apply here if you’re over the age of 18!

The US Version of Amazing Race has been running since 2001 and shows teams of two members race around the world competing in a series of challenges.

An Aussie version previously ran on The Seven Network for three seasons between 2011 and 2014.
