We have a lot of love and respect for Ariana Grande. After all that she’s been through in the past couple of years, to be able to hold her head up high and keep going is truly amazing.
And so you can imagine just how much our hearts broke when we saw the footage of her giving a truly emotional and raw performance at her concert in St Louis over the weekend.
Footage posted to Youtube by a fan in the crowd shows Ari breaking down into tears midway through singing her hit, R.E.M.
She struggles to get through the lyrics, “Before you speak, don’t move. Cause I don’t wanna wake up”, shaking her head and putting her face in her hands as she can’t hold back her tears anymore.
Many people were left wondering what caused the ‘No Tears Left To Cry’ singer to break down at that moment in time.
She has since released a statement on Instagram explaining that a lot of her experiences are still very raw and emotional and she’s still trying to cope with them all.
“I feel everything very intensely and have committed to doing this tour during a time in my life when I’m still processing a lot.. so sometimes I cry a lot!” she wrote alongside a black and white photo.

tour is wild. life is wild. i’m grateful for the sea of love i have around me everyday and for the people who come to these shows and give all of us every ounce of energy they’ve got. i’m grateful to work with the best musicians and dancers in the world. i’m grateful for my voice and my team. i’m grateful for this music. i’m grateful for my tour bus driver, Kurt who bought me pickles yesterday because he saw we ran out. i’m grateful for the opportunity to sing to thousands of people every night. it’s a dream come true. no matter how hard it gets or how many feelings come up that are screaming at me to be processed and sorted through one day, i’m grounded by gratitude and promise not to give up on what i’ve started. i feel everything very intensely and have committed to doing this tour during a time in my life when i’m still processing a lot … so sometimes i cry a lot! i thank you for accepting my humanness. i’m not sure what i did to deserve to meet so many loving souls every night / to feel so much love, but i want you to know that it really does carry me through. i feel it and i appreciate it. and all of you so much. i’m sharing this because i’m grateful and because i want you to know that if you too are hurting, you can push through and are not alone. it is hard to balance taking care of the people around you, doing your job, and healing / taking care of yourself at the same time… but i want you to know, you aren’t alone and i think you’re doing great. love you.
Ariana also explained how grateful she was to be able to perform every night and thanked her fans for being so supportive.
“I thank you for accepting my humanness. I’m not sure what I did to deserve to meet so many loving souls every night/to feel so much love, but I want you to know that it really does carry me through. I feel it and I appreciate it.”
Ariana concluded by telling her fans that she was sharing this message because she wanted them to know that if they were struggling with something that they can get through it.
“I want you to know, you aren’t alone and I think you’re doing great. Love you.”
Ariana truly has dealt with a lot in recent times. In the midst of her music success she’s dealt with the devastating Manchester Arena bombing, the death of her ex-boyfriend Mac Miller and the breakdown of her relationship with ex-fiance Pete Davidson.
We hope she’s doing okay and takes her own advice, because we know she can get through this!
