It was an intense match that saw Serbia’s Novak Djokovic take out the Australian Open title, but that was not the most dramatic part of the night. Defeated opponent, Andy Murray, broke down in his post-match speech while paying tribute to his pregnant wife, Kim Sears calling her a ‘legend’.
“To my wife Kim, you have been a legend the last two weeks,” he said through tears, after the pair had gone through the a lot of emotional highs and lows during the Open – one being the recent illness of his father-in-law Nigel Sears who collapsed in a pool of blood while watching a match.

It was then Djokovic’s turn to pay tribute to his opponent.
“I need to pay respects to Andy and his team for having another great tournament,” he said. “I’d like to wish you and Kim a very happy and healthy delivery of your baby. I hope you will experience a feeling like no other because that’s what happened to me.”
Talk about some great sportsmanship!
