South Gippsland Shire Council will be sacked.
An inquiry has uncovered “a high level of tension, discord and conflict between the councillors elected in 2016”.
Six councillors have quit since December, with one resigning to fight drug charges and another has been accused of misusing their position.
The other four say they’ve been bullied out of their position.
All of the eight councillors will be sacked and there will be a new election October 2021.
In the meantime, an interim administrator will take charge until a three-person panel will oversee the region.
