You’d think that all baby news would be focused on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s royal baby at the moment, especially after the first photos and that adorable name, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, were released earlier today.

But actress and comedian Amy Schumer also announced the name of her newborn son today, and she’s certainly not letting the royals overshadow her announcement…

In fact, some fans actually think that she might be trolling us all after posting the name to her Instagram account.

Schumer shared that she had given birth to her son with hubby Chris Fischer earlier this week with a reference to the royals.

“10:55 pm last night. Our royal baby was born,” Amy wrote alongside a picture of the happy family sharing a cuddle in the hospital.

Then last night, she announced the name of her son, alongside a picture of him cuddling up to his dad.

“Gene Attell Fischer and his dad Chris,” she wrote on Instagram.

While many people were quick to take to the comments to share their approval of the name, which truly is a beautiful name, some fans thought that the comedian might actually be trolling us all.

One fan was quick to point out that if you say the name quickly, it actually sounds like you’re saying genital. And now that we’ve had that pointed out, we can’t unsee it.

“So… @amyschumer named her son Gene Attell. Both good names on their own, but sounds an awful lot like Genital if you say it out loud,” wrote someone on Twitter.

“Are we sure this isn’t a bit? She’s going to announce the real name soon right?”

What do you reckon? Do you think it’s a joke or just a funny accident?

It wouldn’t be the first time something like this has happened to a celebrity. Everyone remembers when Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban announced the name of their daughter was Sunday Rose and everyone was pointing out how it sounded like Sunday Roast.

We don’t know about this one but we’ll certainly be keeping an eye on Schumer’s Instagram to see if she makes any comment…
