The nominees for this years Academy Awards have been announced and there have been some shock inclusions in the major categories this year, and one omission that has left us scratching our heads.
Some slightly left-of-centre films are up for best picture including crowd favorites Bohemian Rhapsody and A Star Is Born, and for the first time EVER, a superhero film, Black Panther is in the running for the top prize.
Meanwhile, it’s a bittersweet result for Bradley Cooper who has been nominated for best actor and A Star Is Born is also up for Best Picture, Best Actress and Best Song, yet he somehow missed out on a Best Director nomination!
This has us REALLY confused.
History was made again this morning. 7 #OscarNominations including Best Picture! God is truly amazing.
Thank you all for the love and support. Honestly we made this movie out of love and wanted to inspire the world with it.

Meanwhile Aussie superstar Margot Robbie, who last year was up for an Oscar after her performance in I, Tonya was expected to follow up with a second nomination for her performance as Queen Elizabeth I in Mary, Queen of Scots, however she has also missed the cut.
Rami Malek’s amazing year continues after taking out the Golden Globe for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody is up for Best Actor.
Thank you to the Academy for recognizing the work of so many from the cast and crew who made all of this possible. I have absolutely treasured playing Freddie Mercury and I am so profoundly humbled and thrilled to honor him this way.
