Fans of Adele aren’t the only ones who can be reduced to tears at the sound of her voice.

The singer herself spent the entire day crying after her Grammys performance was hampered by a technical glitch.

“I cried pretty much all day yesterday, I was just embarrassed,” she told The Ellen Degeneres Show.

“I kept like spontaneously bursting into tears yesterday for no reason, but it’s alright.”

“I treated myself to a burger and a beer,” she added.

Adele laughed off her “embarrassing” performance, revealing the disruption was in fact a fallen microphone.

“In the ad break, the microphone fell onto the piano strings, which is what the guitar noise was,” she said.

“Some people thought it was Bieber rehearsing but it wasn’t him, we are on great terms.”

The Grammy-winning singer admitted she was embarrassed after a successful soundcheck and said she was slightly off-tune throughout her performance.

“It kind of put the whole thing off really,” the singer admitted.

“I’m always a bit pitchy anyway … it’s emotion,” she laughed.

“When I’m flat and I’m sharp I’m just emotional.”

The star added she gets stage fright “more than ever”, feeling the pressure to perform well on stage.

“I just feel like the more successful I get, the more pressure there is.”

“I don’t feel like it could go that much worse than the Grammys though so I feel like I am alright now, what ever happens is like, dust it off.”
