Thought the world was going crazy over Pokemon? Wait till you see what happens when Harry Potter Go’s released!

Rumour has it the creators of the hit game, Niantic, have announced they next have their sights set on bringing the wizarding world to life.

But unlike the Pokemon Go app where you capture Pokemon and Gyms, the Harry Potter version will be sending you to schools of witchcraft and wizardry.

There’s also been talk of “large scale completely interactive events”.

According to JTXH News, Niantic Senior Developer Marcus Figueroa, says the rights have been acquired for the app.

“If we’re lucky we might see a launch by early 2017, but it’s hard to tell this early in the project,” he said.

However, some are calling it a hoax, with the story siting an article that doesn’t exist and Google searches for ‘Marcus Figueroa’ coming up blank.

A petition calling for a Harry Potter version of the Pokemon Go app already has 40,000 signatures.

Whether or not their pleas have been listened to, we’ll have to wait to find out.

Personally we love the idea of people waving their phones around like wands in public…
