Lorelai Clubb is, in some ways, not unlike any other 12-year-old: she loves pop music and was really excited about going to Taylor Swift’s concert for her birthday. Only, Lorelai is diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia, a cancer of the blood and bone marrow, and her illness meant she sadly had to miss the concert.

With a strength and positive outlook beyond her years and circumstance, Lorelai decided if she couldn’t go to Taylor Swift, she would give a version of the star’s hit single ‘Shake It Off’ to the world, from her hospital room.

With the help of staff, in particular the hospital’s music therapist, Christy Merell, Lorelai recorded her own music video (with some slightly tweaked, sometimes heartbreakingly honest, lyrics), and the result is nothing short of excellent.

With Taylor Swift’s long history of reaching out to fans, we hope Lorelai hears the songstress’ thoughts on the vid!
