2016 is shaping up to be quite the year for scary movies!

1. The Conjuring 2 June 10th 

I personally still haven’t recovered from the first one and the trailer below looks even scarier! This time, Lorraine & Ed Warren travel to London where a home is plagued by malicious spirits. 

2. The Boy 

This trailer gets spookier every time you watch it. It’s about a terrifying doll that’s possessed by a ghost and we ALL know there is nothing scarier than possessed dolls…

3. 31 – September 16th 

Rob Zombie sure knows how to make a gruesome horror movie! The film is set in an abandoned theme park and features bloodied clown killers. 

4. The Forest 

A woman, played by the Hunger Games‘ Natalie Dormer, goes into Japan’s notorious (and very much real) suicide forest to look for her sister where she encounters supernatural forces

5. Amityville: The Awakening January 6th 2017

Jennifer Jason Leigh and Bella Thorne return again to amityville, the setting of probably one of the most horrific supernatural true stories ever. 

6. Green Room April 29th 

This movie is a tense and grisly film about maniacal skinheads and the trailer looks incredibly disturbing. In fact, it caused a lot of controversy at it’s sundance premiere earlier this year…

7. Lights Out July 22nd 

This film is based on the viral short film that petrified the world last year. The film expands on the story of a girl who is haunted by a horrific creature who only appears in the dark. Good luck ever falling asleep again. 

8. Before I Wake April 8th 

Starring Kate Bosworth and room’s Jacob Tremblay, before I wake centres around a young boy who is possessed by a demon whose powers make his sinister dreams come to life.

9. The Other Side Of The Door 

When a woman loses her son in a tragic accident, she participates in a ritual to bring him back from the dead to say goodbye, but when she disobeys a sacred rule, all hell breaks loose! 

10. The Purge 3: Election Day

The first two purge films kind of blindsided us because they seemed SO real. The third installment focuses on an electoral candidate who becomes the target for a bunch of crazed and masked killers…
